Bittersweet
Today is the first day of school 2012. 5th grade and 2nd grade. Wow! Both the girls were happy to be going back, ready to see who was in their classrooms, ready to meet their teachers and {i think}ready for a bit of structure in their day, but it is hard to let go of summertime. Anyone who knows me knows that I love when the girls are home and I am never happy to see the return of school. Like it or not, school days are here again and we are going to have a great year this year! I just know it!

I know how the girls feel. The first day of school was always so exciting. I loved having all new school supplies and getting my school books. I still love learning new things and I hope the girls will always love learning, too.
ReplyDeleteI know it must be hard to see them going off to school again but just think of all the exiting stories they will tell you when they get home!
I remember the dinner conversation every night after school:
Dad: What did you learn at school today?
Me: Dunno.
Dad: (sadly shaking head) Dunno? Why do we send you to school, then?
Me: Dunno. ; )
